Over and Up!

It has been 2 weeks or so since the SW Fashion Festival finished, but now we are ready to get back to work and tell you all about it....

The first ever SW Fashion Festival was an amazing success. Our first objective was to have industry professionals come down and see our designers and hopefully make some connections. The second objective was to create some excitement in the South West and garner wider interest in the talent here. And the third objective was to network with designers, artists, photographers, stylists, etc for ongoing and future projects.

We are pleased to say all these objectives were met and more! We had a fantastic response from the industry, including tertiary institutions and government departments. Now it is up to the designers to go for it!

Very soon we will be having a SW Fashion Festival evening in which we will host industry production experts, so they can meet designers, pattern cutters, etc to discuss label production and manufacture options. So watch this space!

We also had great write ups in the local and state papers, on TV, all over Facebook and online but this one is absolutely amazing.  Flourish Magazine's Jessica Kidner came down and spent a couple of days here and we couldn't have wanted a better PR rep!

South West Fashion Festival is an exciting new showcase to promote South West talent and garner excitement about the wealth of amazing designers, artists and models in our local area.
South West Fashion Festival, will launch on the Wednesday 23rd of February and run until  Saturday 26th. The major focus of the event is to promote local designers, artists, photographers and retailers to a broader market. The emphasis is finding local talent, new or established and helping them to branch out to metropolitan, interstate and international areas.

Designer Update!

Great news, joining the catwalk for the inaugural SW Fashion Festival will be local design dynamo Assirak! 

Created by Karissa Fedele, Assirak is a beautiful collection of hand printed sumptuous dresses, tops and trousers, and Uber-cool jumpsuits! Can't wait to see them floating down the runway!
